On Wednesday, 25 May 2022, the National Institute of Justice in partnership with the Council of Europe of Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP Program) launched a new distance learning course "Violence against Women and Domestic Violence" . The event is part of the Council of Europe project "Supporting the implementation of the Istanbul Convention in the Republic of Moldova ".
On Monday, 23 May 2022, a Council of Europe delegation visited the National Institute of Justice to assess the needs of the Republic of Moldova in the context of the flow of refugees from Ukraine.
During the period 17-18 May 2022, the trainees of the National Institute of Justice, candidates for judges and prosecutors, accompanied by Anatolie Munteanu, NIJ trainer, and Nicoleta Nicolaev, main specialist of the Initial Training Section, visited the Penitentiary no. 9 of closed type for the detention of adult male convicts from Pruncul district, Chisinau.
The need to organize training activities in the field of trafficking in human beings (THB) for actors from justice sector was the purpose of the meeting between Ecaterina Popa, ad interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Marina Leu, ad interim head of the Continuous training section, Diana Doroș, head of Department for human rights and social dialogue, State Chancellery, and Natalia Nicula, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The meeting took place on Wednesday, 18 May 2022, at the National Institute of Justice.
