The most awaited event of the XIVth promotion of future judges and prosecutors took place on Tuesday, 19 April, 2022, hosted in Regina Maria Hall of the National Institute of Justice. The award ceremony, marks the graduation of the initial training course of 15 candidates to the position of judge and 19 candidates to the position of prosecutor, which was held in a solemn atmosphere, in the presence of prominent members of the legal system, representatives of the US Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, trainers and employees of the National Institute of Justice. At the beginning of the festivity, the trainees were wearing black and blue robes, depending on their profile, honored the State Anthem of the Republic of Moldova.

Is the environment in which future judges and prosecutors study different from the university environment? How is the life of a trainee at the National Institute of Justice? How does a judicial training institution that prepares candidates to the positions of judge and prosecutor work? The answers to these and other questions were found by the students of the Law Faculties of the Free International University of Moldova and of the State University of Moldova, members of ELSA (European Law Students Association). The visit to the NIJ took place in the afternoon of Wednesday, April 13, 2022.

On Wednesday, 13 April, 2022, Council of Europe launched a new project "Supporting the implementation of the Istanbul Convention in the Republic of Moldova". The event was attended by the representatives of the National Institute of Justice - Ecaterina Popa, ad interim Director, and Cezara-Elena Polisca, advisor of the NIJ Director, head of the Didactics, Methodological and Training of Trainers Section.

The European Court of Human Rights, the spirit promoted by this high judicial body and the consistent jurisprudence in affirming the values of the European Convention were central elements of the meeting of the NIJ trainee of the National Institute of Justice with ECtHR judges from the Republic of Moldova and Azerbaijan - Diana Sârcu and Lətif Hüseynov. The event took place today, April 11, 2022.

The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) and the National Centre for Child Abuse Prevention (NCCAP), within the project “Support for Integrated Assistance to Child Victims/Witnesses of Crimes in the Republic of Moldova”, funded by UNICEF Moldova, have started on Tuesday, 29 March 2022, a new Training Programme on hearing of the child victim/witness of crimes for interviewers.
