The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) and the National Centre for Child Abuse Prevention (NCCAP), within the project “Support for Integrated Assistance to Child Victims/Witnesses of Crimes in the Republic of Moldova”, funded by UNICEF Moldova, have started on Tuesday, 29 March 2022, a new Training Programme on hearing of the child victim/witness of crimes for interviewers.
The representatives of partner institutions, i.e. Ecaterina Popa, Ad interim Director of the NIJ, Daniela Sîmboteanu, President of the NCCAP, and Veronica Goinic, UNICEF Moldova, have emphasized the significance of the event aimed at strengthening the interviewers’ capacities on hearing of the child victim/witness of crimes, as provided by Article 1101 of the Moldovan Criminal Procedure Code, in the light of preventing revictimisation and retraumatization of the child.
The training course, intended for professionals from the south of the country who perform the hearing of the children is a hybrid one and consists of five modules in various forms of training: e-learning on the NIJ’s ILIAS Platform, individual mentoring, group supervision, face-to-face training, practical classes, simulations, role-playing games etc. The training sessions will be carried out by the NCCAP practicing interviewers: Diana Țeberneac and Oxana Șevcenco, and the graduates of the programme will attain the status of interviewer with competences to hold the hearing of the child victim/witness of crimes in compliance with legal provisions.
The Training Programme on hearing of the child victims/witnesses of crimes for interviewers is part of the “National Human Rights Action Plan for the period 2018-2022”, being an adaptation of the training course for interviewers organized by NIJ and NCCAP between 2015 and 2016.
