On January 20-24, 2025, decision-makers from judicial training institutions and lawyers' associations from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine made a study visit to the Academy of European Law (ERA) in Trier, Germany. The National Institute of Justice was represented by Ecaterina Popa, ad Interim Director, and Olga Marandici, advisor to the NIJ Director.
The Council of the National Institute of Justice has announced on December 10, 2024, a competition for the vacant position of Director of the National Institute of Justice. The deadline for receipt of applications lasted 30 working days and three candidates were registered.
On Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the National Institute of Justice, was organized a meeting with representatives of USAID's initiative ”Resilient Institutions Against Corruption” (RISC), Phase II - Eugen Burdelnii, team leader, Cristina Reul, senior technical advisor, and Angela Caranfil, finance, grants and administration manager.
On December 9-12, 2024, the new module "Law of the European Union" was organized in four seminars: "EU Institutions: functioning mechanisms and decision-making process", "Protection of fundamental rights at EU level. Court of Justice of the EU", "Legal cooperation in criminal matters within the EU" and "Rule of law in the context of EU integration". The module was integrated into the Continuous Training Plan as a result of the TAIEX 2022 mission and the European Commission's recommendations on Chapter 23 of the acquis Communautaire.
