On Friday, December 9, 2022, representatives of the National Institute of Justice, Ecaterina Popa, ad interim director, and Tatiana Ciaglic, head of the legal information Center, participated in the mid-term meeting of the CoE Project Steering Committee “Supporting the implementation of the Istanbul Convention in the Republic of Moldova”.

The trainees of the National Institute of Justice, together with students from the State University of Moldova, the Academy “Stefan cel Mare” and the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts, simulated a mock trial of a civil case on the application of protection measures for victims of domestic violence.

In order to deepen the knowledge in the field of legislation on combating extremism, racism, discrimination and anti-Semitism, the beneficiaries of the National Institute of Justice had the opportunity to participate in a training “Anti-Semitism and the Holocaust – history, memory and legislation”, organized by the National Institute of Magistracy of Romania.

A group of prosecutors and judges specialized in investigating cases of trafficking in human beings (THB) participated, between November 30, 2022 and December 2, 2022, at the winter school “Strengthening the response of law enforcement bodies to the phenomenon of trafficking in human beings”.

The National Institute of Magistracy (INM) of Romania organized the seminar “Digital Training Tools / E-tools”, attended by the Head of the Legal Information Center, NIJ trainer, Tatiana Ciaglic, thanks to the project ”Strengthening the justice system by organizing expertise transfer missions addressed to judges and prosecutors from the Republic of Moldova”.
