Two training activities for the National Institute of Justice beneficiaries, offered by the trainers of the National Institute of Magistracy of Romania

During November 25-29, 2024, a group of beneficiaries of the National Institute of Justice - judges, prosecutors and other legal professionals - participated in two training activities in Bucharest.

The seminars on "The role of the national magistrate in the application of the EU Acquis" and "Communication tools and good practices" were delivered by trainers from the National Institute of Magistracy of Romania.

In the first training course, participants deepened their knowledge about the genesis of the European Union, its institutional structures and sphere of competence. The program also included topics on European law, the direct effect and the obligation to interpret national law according to EU law, mechanisms of cooperation in criminal and civil matters between Member States, etc.

The second seminar focused on effective instruments and strategies for interaction, including with litigants. The sessions covered aspects of verbal, paraverbal and non-verbal communication, dialog techniques, advanced active listening skills, as well as ways to mediate tensions in the workplace.

The activities were organized within the project "Assistance in the field of justice - Strengthening the institutional capacity of the National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova", implemented by the National Institute of Magistracy (NIM) of Romania and the National Institute of Justice (NIM) of the Republic of Moldova, financed by the Romanian Government - Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the International Development Cooperation Agency (RoAid).
