Starting on March 14, 2023, the National Institute of Justice launches the procedure for examining people who are applying for the position of judge or prosecutor based on their seniority in work. The examination is carried out in two tests by the persons who meet the conditions provided in the Law on the status of the judge and the Law on the Public Prosecution Service.
Between March 14-28, 2023, the written test will be conducted electronically in two stages: the eliminative psychological test, as well as the elaboration of two procedural acts for real cases randomly selected by the informational system. Thus, those who will promote the psychological test will draw up a judgment and a sentence based on a civil case and a criminal case (candidates for the position of judges) and an indictment and an appropriate ordinance on the basis of two criminal cases (candidates for the position of prosecutor).
The oral test will take place between April 10-14, 2023, and the exam participants will answer, depending on their specialization, one subject from the following fields: criminal law, criminal procedural law, civil law, civil procedural law, administrative law and human rights.
Both, the written and the oral test will be recorded.
We mention that the basis for participation in the exam are the decisions of the Superior Council of Magistrates and Superior Council of Prosecutors regarding the submission of the applicant’s materials for the position of judge or prosecutor based on their seniority in the work for the exam before the graduation Commission of the National Institute of Justice. Due to a large number of requests received, the Council of the National Institute of Justice decided to distribute the participants in several stages according to the decisions issued by the SCM and SCP.
