The final meeting of the coordination group of the CoE project ,,Support to further strengthening the efficiency and quality of the judicial system in the Republic of Moldova”

Organizing seminars and workshops, developing an e-course, updating the curriculum and support materials in the field of efficient administration of courts is among the actions carried out by the National Institute of Justice in partnership with the Council of Europe project „Support to further strengthening the efficiency and quality of the judicial system in the Republic of Moldova”. About these activities and their impact on the professional training of the NIJ beneficiaries, Ecaterina Popa, NIJ ad interim director, spoke at the final meeting of the project coordination group. The event that took place on Thursday, February 23, 2023 and was also attended by Tatiana Ciaglic, Head of the Legal Information Center.

In their speeches, William Massolin, Head of the Council of Europe Office in the Republic of Moldova, and Eduard Pesendorfer, Project Manager in the field of Justice, European Union Delegation in the Republic of Moldova, highlighted the role and contribution of the National Institute of Justice in strengthening and streamlining the management of courts through quality judicial training of the NIJ beneficiaries, including the CEPEJ instruments and communication in courts.

At the final meeting, the concept and main features of the JUSTAT Automated Information System were presented and discussions on the usefulness of carrying out new actions during the next project followed.

The CoE project “Support to further strengthening the efficiency and quality of the judicial system in the Republic of Moldova” aimed to improve the functioning of the judiciary by strengthening the efficiency and quality of the courts and was implemented within the Joint Program of the European Union and the Council of Europe “Partnership for Good Governance 2019-2022’.
