The ad interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Ecaterina Popa, met with the Chief of the General Police Inspectorate, Viorel Cernauteanu. The discussions focused especially on the development of cooperation relations in the field of professional training of the beneficiaries of both institutions.
On this occasion, Ecaterina Popa highlighted the value of permanent interinstitutional dialogue in order to successfully achieve the previously established cooperation directions.
In this context, parties discussed the need to update the collaboration agreement between the NIJ and GPI, which expires soon, in order to implement a series of new actions laid down in the strategic programs aimed for strengthening the capacities of legal professionals to increase the quality of training.
Thus, are expected to be organized mixed trainings, study visits and debates which will approach various topics of common interest for judges, prosecutors and law enforcement agents.
The meeting was also attended by Olga Marandici, Head of the International Relations Section, and Ion Bocan, Head of the continuous Training Section, and from the GPI – Galina Plesca, deputy head of the International Relations Department.
