Between June 2-13, 2020, the National Institute of Justice conducted the graduation exam of the XIIth group of trainees, candidates to the positions of judge and prosecutor. The results were approved by the members of the NIJ Council present at the meeting of June 18, 2020.
The final evaluation of the 15 candidates to the position of judge and of the 20 candidates to the position of prosecutor took place under special conditions determined by the current epidemiological situation. Thereby, in the computer room where the written test was organized, there were a maximum of ten people who kept physical distance. They all wore protective gloves and masks, and their temperature was measured at the entrance.
In the written test, the future judges drafted a decision in a civil case and a sentence in a criminal case, and the future prosecutors - the indictment and the order of cessation/dismissal of the criminal process based on concrete cases. The files were selected electronically, randomly and individually for participants.
The oral test took place online and consisted of the evaluation of the internship, which the trainees conducted for 30 weeks in courts, prosecutor’s offices and criminal investigation bodies. This practical exercise allowed the trainees to develop useful skills for their professional career.
Both the written and the oral exams were video and audio recorded.
