Tuesday, November 13, 2018, Diana Scobioala, the Director of the National Institute of Justice, met with Bryan Taylor, American Prosecutor, Expert in implementing the community prosecution concept in the United States of America. He is on a documentary visit to our country to get acquainted the way Moldovan prosecutors interact with society, especially with minors, religious or ethnic groups etc.
The subjects of the discussions between the two parties concerned the functioning of the National Institute of Justice and the training process on two essential segments: initial training of the trainees and continuous training of judges and prosecutors in office, as well as other specialists in the justice sector.
Also, Diana Scobioala spoke about the undertaken actions of the National Institute of Justice to interact with society and their impact. In particular, the NIJ Director referred to the organization of the day of open doors for representatives of the Gagauz minority, the involvement of NIJ trainees in carrying out campaigns and charity actions for children in difficulty, the making of the Republican painting competition "Justice - I see you like this!" where the participants were children etc.
The meeting was attended also by Alexandra Nica, Head of the Training and Research department of the NIJ, Dumitru Obada, Head of the Didactical-methodical and Training of trainers section of NIJ, Kevin Lanigan, Senior Justice Advisor within the US Embassy in Moldova, and Vlad Popa, lawyer at ABA ROLI Moldova.
