On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the National Institute of Justice started a program for the development of facilitation skills for NIJ trainers, by organizing the first session of a series of seminars dedicated to the methodology of adult training. The initiative is in line with the Institute's objectives of aligning with European standards of excellence in legal training, as well as with the recommendations of the TAIEX mission. The seminar will be replicated in the coming period, thus ensuring the training of the entire body of trainers who teach at the Institute in this area.
In the opening, participants were welcomed by representatives of the organizing institutions - Ecaterina Popa, Head of the training and research Department of NIJ, and Mihaela Vidaicu, Director of ABA ROLI Moldova.
Under the guidance of Valentina Chicu, coordinator of the Training of Trainers Program at the State University of Moldova, the activity focused on strengthening effective facilitation techniques and getting familiar with innovative ways of giving feedback.
The training participants benefited from a practical and interactive approach, which allowed them to explore the ERRE (Evocation - Meaning Making - Reflection - Extension) methodological framework. This model places the learner in the center of the learning process, facilitating the acquisition of skills through direct involvement in building their own knowledge.
The activity was organized by the National Institute of Justice in the framework of the Program for Supporting Criminal Justice Reform and Strengthening Anticorruption Efforts in Moldova (2021-2025), implemented by ABA ROLI, with the financial support of the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Department of State.
