Representatives of the law faculties’ councils of the University of Bucharest and the State University of Moldova on a visit at the National Institute of Justice

On the afternoon, December 6, 2024, the National Institute of Justice was visited by the Deans of the law faculties of the State University of Chisinau and the University of Bucharest - Prof. Sergiu Brinza, PhD, and Prof. Razvan Dinca, PhD. The delegation also included Moldovan professors and Romanian students.

During the meeting with the Interim Director of NIJ, Adrian Cerbu, the Head of the training and research Department, Ecaterina Popa, and the Head of the Legal Information Center, Tatiana Ciaglic, were discussed topics related to the specific educational processes of training young lawyers, in particular future judges and prosecutors. The dialogue also focused on the good cooperation between the National Institute of Justice and the National Institute of Magistracy (NIM) of Romania, taking into account the membership of Mr. Razvan Dinca in the Scientific Council of the NIM. In this context, there were discussed the opportunities of inter-institutional cooperation and academic exchanges in areas of common interest.

The guests also toured the study spaces, which gave them an overview of the infrastructure and training methods. In one of the training rooms, the delegation had the opportunity to observe a mock trial, which highlighted the practical training of the candidates to the positions of judge and prosecutor.

The visit to the National Institute of Justice took place on the occasion of representatives reunion of the Council of the Law Faculty of the State University of Moldova and the Law Faculty of the University of Bucharest, which is traditionally organized once a year.
