Meeting with representatives of the GIZ Project "Strengthening the rule of law and anti-corruption mechanisms in the Republic of Moldova"

The Ad interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Adrian Cerbu, met on Thursday, October 10, 2024, with - Janine Baudach, project manager, and Victor Bufteac, anti-corruption and integrity policy advisor, representatives of the Project "Strengthening the rule of law and anti-corruption mechanisms in the Republic of Moldova", implemented by the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ). The meeting was also attended by Ecaterina Popa, Head of the Training and Research Directorate, and Tatiana Ciaglic, Head of the Legal Information Center.

The discussions focused on various aspects of cooperation. Thus, the project representatives proposed to organize an event to highlight the achievements of the project, including training activities for NIJ beneficiaries in areas of current importance, such as financial investigations and recovery of financial assets, investigation of illicit enrichment and money laundering cases, etc.

Another topic discussed at the meeting was the launch of two e-learning modules at the National Institute of Justice: "International Cooperation in Criminal Matters" and "Financial Analysis using Excel". The e-courses were offered by the Basel Institute and will be delivered on the Institute's ILIAS distance learning platform.

The GIZ project "Strengthening the rule of law and anti-corruption mechanisms in the Republic of Moldova" is funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, with the main objective to contribute to the prevention and fight against corruption in the Republic of Moldova.
