On December 4-5, 2023, the 41st plenary meeting of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice was held in Strasbourg, France. The delegation of the Republic of Moldova included Vitalie Stratan, trainer and member of the Council of the National Institute of Justice, judge at the Chisinau Court.
The agenda of the meeting contained several topics, including: adoption of the programme of activities for 2024-2025, renewal of mandates of working groups on the evaluation of judicial systems, quality of justice, and the management of judicial time, cyber justice and artificial intelligence. At the same time, issues related to alternative online dispute resolution to ensure compliance with the principles of a fair trial in the context of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) mechanisms have been examined being discussed also the implementation of the European ethical charter on the use of AI.
Participation at the event of the our country delegation was possible thanks to the project „Support for further modernization of the court management in the Republic of Moldova”, implemented within the third stage of the Joint Programme of the European Union and the Council of Europe „Partnership for Good Governance”.
