The Director of the National Institute of Justice, Diana Scobioala, participated in a Round Table "Reforms of the judiciary in Kazakhstan: addressing new challenges using international best practices", which took place on October 27-28, 2021, in Nur-Sultan, Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the event, Diana Scobioală presented the results of the cooperation between the National Institute of Justice and the HELP Program on the integration segment of online learning instruments in the legal education for judiciary; experience of Moldova. The NIJ Director mentioned that, in order to strengthen the knowledge, skills and experience in the application of the European Convention on Human Rights, over 1800 beneficiaries were trained in the 13 HELP courses adapted to the domestic legal system by the National Institute of Justice. At the same time, in order to ensure the lasting effect of HELP trainings, the Institute includes these courses in the initial and continuous training plans, being delivered through the ILIAS e-learning platform of NIJ.
The international round table "Reforms of the judiciary in Kazakhstan: addressing new challenges using international best practice" was organized by the Directorate-General for Human Rights and the Rule of Law of the Council of Europe in cooperation with the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the EU Program. / CoE for the rule of law in Central Asia 2020-2023. The event aimed to address various issues related to the judicial reform process in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, as well as to help the system effectively apply human rights standards in their daily work, including through HELP courses.
