In order to establish long-term bilateral relations and streamline the judicial training process, on Wednesday, November 21, 2019, the Director of the National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, Diana Scobioala, and the Director of the High School of Justice of Georgia, Vano Bolkvadze, signed a Collaboration Agreement between the institutions they are leading.
The Agreement establishes a series of commitments of the Parties that will facilitate the collaboration and mutual assistance in promoting high quality training for the trainees, judges in practice and the staff of the courts. At the same time, the formalization of the partnership will strengthen the capacity of both institutions to provide judicial training in accordance with the standards in the field. The expected results of the Agreement consist in the initiation and development of common training activities (conferences, workshops and seminars), the organization of study visits, the exchange of publications and scientific research, etc.
The event took place in the context of the visit to the National Institute of Justice of the representatives of the High School of Justice of Georgia: Vano Bolkvadze, Director, Aniko Parjiani, Head of Analytical and International Relations Unit, and Ana Mgebrishvili, Chief Consultant of Analytical and International Relation Unit. During the meetings were addressed topics related to the optimization and increase of transparency in the process of conducting the admission/graduation contest, initial training of the trainees, reconceptualization of the plans of continuous training for the NIJ beneficiaries, as well as the reconstruction of the building and the development of the infrastructure, which were determined by increasing the institutional capacities and the quality of the training process. The Georgian delegation was particularly interested in how future judges are trained through simulation methods, attending the mock trials performed within the initial training.
The study visit to Chisinau of the exponents of the High School of Justice of Georgia aims to share the institutional practices of conducting the training process and is taking place on November 20-22, 2019, at the invitation of the National Institute of Justice.
