New cooperation perspectives for the Republic of Moldova and the Italian Republic on the quality judicial training of professionals in the justice sector became possible thanks to the Memorandum of understanding concluded between Ecaterina Popa, ad interim director of the National Institute of Justice, and Giorgio Lattanzi, President of the Superior School of Magistracy (SSM).
The event took place on January 19, 2023, in Rome, Italy, where the parties expressed their readiness to establish a sustainable framework for cooperation in order to exchange best practices and make the professional development process more efficient to meet the needs identified in both countries.
According to the document, the two institutions aim to initiate and carry out several activities for the beneficiaries of the NIJ and the SSM, as well as for those responsible for training and scientific research activities. Thus, study visits, conferences, workshops and joint trainings will be organized, as well as the exchange of documents, brochures and publications in the field of law and judicial training.
Also present at the signing of the Memorandum were Olga Marandici, Head of the International Relations Section of the NIJ, Gianluca Grasso, responsible for international relations of the SSM Steering Committee and Federica Tondin, Secretary General of the SSM.
