Between January 11-12, 2024, a group of judges and prosecutors attended the first winter school of this year – “Mindfulness: methods and techniques for preventing and managing burnout”. The training activity was organized by the National Institute of Justice and the International Center “La Strada”.
In the opening session spoke Ecaterina Popa, ad interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Elena Botezatu, Executive Director of the International Center “La Strada”, and Veronica Calancea, Director of the BALINT Association of Moldova. The representatives of the institutions that organized the event noted the importance of preventing emotional exhaustion, including at the workplace, taking into account the professional activity of the participants in the investigation and examination of complex causes with intense emotional charge.
The winter school aimed to know the methods of preventing professional burning, applying exercises for self-assessment of stress and emotional exhaustion, developing techniques for the correct management of emotion. Thus, for two days, judges and prosecutors, initiated by Veronica Calancea, doctor of psychology, psychotherapist, became familiar with ways of mastering emotions, intervision and supervision at the workplace, the effects of own traumatic childhood experiences and their impacts on adult life, the symptoms of post-traumatic stress and interventions in psycho-trauma, etc.
