On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, the first meeting of the Steering Committee of the project ,,Support to Justice Sector Reform in Moldova – Reinforcing the National Capacities to Provide Efficient Skills-Based Training for Legal Professionals” took place. The National Institute of Justice is the direct beneficiary of the project implemented by the United Nations Development Program with the financial support of the US Government and coordinated by Valentin Rosca, project manager, UNDP Moldova.
In the opening, Diana Scobioala, NIJ Director, thanked to the development partners and experts for the cooperation in effectively achieving the proposed objectives, especially in developing the methodology of legal reasoning and legal writing that will be included in the simulated process program, curriculum for ,,Legal English" course, and as well as for involvement in the process of renovating the facade of the historical building of the NIJ.
During the meeting, was analyzed the progress made between November 2020 and November 2021 on the two components: increasing the capacity of NIJ to incorporate the concepts of research, reasoning and legal writing in the trening process of legal professionals, as well as strengthening the institutional and technical capacities of NIJ, including the development of the digital side of the training provided. The proposed work plan and budget for the following year were also approved.
The project "Support for Justice Sector Reform in Moldova - Reinforcing the National Capacities to Provide Efficient Skills - Based Training for Legal Professionals started last year and aims to strengthen the capacity of national structures to provide effective and skills-based training to legal professionals.
