"Today comes with the launch of a new initial training course for candidates to the positions of judge and prosecutor. On this occasion, I address to everyone a warm "Welcome" to the National Institute of Justice. In particular, I would like to thank the President for accepting our invitation to be part of such an important event for our institution. It is an honor for us and, at the same time, an opportunity to tell and show you, from the first source, that NIJ is a high-performance institution whose mission is to provide quality trainings through the innovations implemented and the reforms made in recent years.”, declared Diana Scobioala, the Director of the NIJ, at the beginning of the ceremony.
For his part, the Head of state came with a congratulatory message addressed to the future judges and prosecutors and to the entire team of the National Institute of Justice: “I consider that the justice reform should be started and thought through in the process of training the future judges and prosecutors of the country. The most valuable investment of the state is in the human factor, in people, an investment that must be justified through professionalism, virtue and verticality. I underlined the fact that the NIJ must become the only way of access to the positions of judge and prosecutor, and the state should fully capitalize on this investment. I consider that the priority and focus should be placed on the NIJ graduates, on well-educated young people, and the access of other professionals, based on the duration of their employment service, must be minimized.
During the ceremony, also spoke Nina Craciun, the president of the Commission for the admission exams, prosecutor in the Unification of the practice in the field of representing the accused in the courts section of the Judicial Department of the General Prosecutor's Office, and Angela Motuzoc, the President of the Superior Council of the Prosecutors.
On the occasion of launching the XIIIth promotion, the President of the Republic of Moldova, accompanied by the Director of the National Institute of Justice, took a tour through the renovated study rooms of the institution where the trainees will conduct their studies.
