The Director of the National Institute of Justice, Diana Scobioala, participated in the works of the XXIIth General Assembly of the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) of magistracy institutions of the Member States of the European Union.
The General Assembly took place on June 27-28, 2019, in Bucharest, Romania, and brought together representatives of magistracy schools of the Member States of the European Union, of the European Commission and of the international organizations in the justice sector. The event was also attended by Valentina Contescu, the Head of the Institutional Management Department of the National Institute of Justice.
This year's EJTN General Assembly was opened by the Director of the National Institute of Magistracy of Romania, Cristina Rotaru-Radu, and by the EJTN Secretary General, Wojciech Postulski.
The event agenda included several topics related to the annual report of the Secretary General and the Steering Committee, the presentation of the EJTN Strategic Plan for the years 2021-2023, the approval of some amendments to the EJTN Rules of Procedure, the exchange of programs and methods of judicial training, etc. Also, a new EJTN Secretary General, Markus Brückner, and the EJTN Steering Committee were elected for the next term of office from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022.
The National Institute of Justice has the status of Observer of the European Judicial Training Network of magistracy schools of the Member States of the European Union from July 1, 2016.
