The National Institute of Justice, represented by Ecaterina Popa, Ad interim Director, and Ion Bocan, Head of the Continuous Training Section, participated in the first meeting of the Technical Committee of the new project of the European Union and the Council of Europe "Support for further modernization of the management of the judicial system in the Republic of Moldova (CEPEJ Project)".
The event took place online, on Thursday, April 6, 2023, and brought together experts from the Council of Europe and national authorities. The meeting presented the main achievements of the previous cooperation between CEPEJ and institutions in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the action plan of the launched project.
As a partner of the project, the National Institute of Justice will cover the dimension of trainings in the field of management, which will be addressed to judges, key personnel of the courts and representatives of the central judicial administration. Thus, a series of trainings will be organized in order to strengthen the capacities of professionals in the justice sector regarding the use of the JUSTAT Automated Information System, as well as seminars in the field of judicial communication.
The project "Support for further modernization of the management of the judicial system in the Republic of Moldova" is part of Phase III of the Partnership for Good Governance between the EU and the Council of Europe and will last for 36 months. The objectives of the project are to increase the efficiency and quality of the courts, as well as to improve the execution of judicial decisions in civil and administrative cases through the application of CEPEJ tools.
