Adrian Cerbu, Ad interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, and Ecaterina Popa, Head of the Training and Research Department, met on Thursday, October 3, 2024, with lawyer Vadim Vieru, who will facilitate the implementation of actions agreed upon between the Institute and UN Women Moldova. The activities will be part of the regional project targeting multiple aspects of gender equality - "Women’s Increased Leadership for Resilient and Peaceful Societies" implemented by UN Women Moldova and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

During the meeting, the interlocutors agreed on the first steps towards the organization of specialized trainings for trainers, staff and trainees of the National Institute of Justice. The training sessions will be followed by interactive workshops aimed at co-creating an effective mechanism to prevent and report cases of sexual abuse and sexual harassment. Participants in the trainings will be actively involved in the development process, thus ensuring that the resulting product is adapted to the identified specific needs.

Through the joint efforts of the National Institute of Justice and UN Women, the aim is not only to raise awareness of these sensitive issues, but also to develop concrete tools to address and prevent them.
