On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, was launched the joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe „Support to the justice reform in the Republic of Moldova”, which will support national authorities in further advancing the reform of the judiciary by strengthening its independence, transparency and professionalism. Among the beneficiaries of the project are the Ministry of Justice, the Superior Council of Magistracy, the Superior Council of Prosecutors, the National Institute of Justice and the Constitutional Court.

The representatives of the National Institute of Justice, Ecaterina Popa, ad interim Director, Cezara-Elena Polisca, Head of the didactic-methodical and the training of trainers Unit, and Ion Bocan, Head of the continuous training Unit, met on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, with the expert in legal education from the United States of America, Charles Ericksen, and with the deputy task order lead within the JARA Project, Radu Foltea. Charles Ericksen is also one of the founders of the International Judicial Training Organization (IOJT) whose member is the National Institute of Justice.

Between September 4-8, 2023, in Budapest, Hungary, took place a new edition of the Mentoring Program for Legal professionals. Representatives of the national law system of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine came together to strengthen their competences regarding the Istanbul Convention of the Council of Europe and the standards related to gender equality, as well as training skills within judicial institutions in Eastern Partnership countries. Five trainers from the National Institute of Justice participated in this program, in order to apply later the knowledge in the training of other professionals in the legal system.

On Friday, September 8, 2023, the National Institute of Justice was visited by a delegation from the European Institute of Public Administration ( EIPA ): Juan Diego Ramírez-Cárdenas Díaz and Wolfgang Koeth, accompanied by representatives of the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova: Eugen Vizir, Director, and Gheorghe Cucos, counselor. Find out on a documentary mission in Chisinau, foreign experts set out to meet with government entities and officials who have an important role to play in the extensive process of reforms initiated by our country to integrate the European Union.

Representatives of the National Institute of Justice, Ecaterina Popa, ad interim Director, and Cezara-Elena Polisca, head of the didactic-methodical and training of trainer’s section had a study visit to the United States. The delegation also included professors responsible for teaching the legal writing and argumentation course at the law faculties in the Republic of Moldova.
