National Institute of Justice, represented by Olga Marandici, head of the International Relations Section, participated in the advanced international training program „Prevention and response to gender-based violence – strengthening agents of change”. Organized by Kvinna till Kvinna in collaboration with the Swedish Police Authority, the event took place from 11-18 November 2023 in Montenegro and aimed to increase the capacities of organizations and national authorities to prevent and provide an effective response to gender-based violence.
During the training sessions, participants - experts, practitioners and exponents of the academic environment from Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and the Republic of Moldova, benefited from both, individual and group counseling, for a successfully implementation of projects on paradigm change regarding gender violence. Beneficiaries of the training were familiarized with new tools for effective violence case management. They also strengthened their capacities in order to carry out actions to raise awareness among actors in the justice system regarding gender-based violence, its prevention and the adoption of the necessary measures to provide appropriate assistance, as well as the promotion of the rights of victims of gender-based violence.
We note that, between May 27 and June 3, 2023, the first part of the international training program "Prevention and response to gender-based violence - strengthening agents of change" took place, in which the NIJ representative also participated.
