On Monday, June 18, the National Institute of Justice’ library received a lot of 50 books in English, donated by the United States of America Embassy in the Republic of Moldova.
The books, published by Harvard University, were transmitted by the representatives of the Criminal justice and law enforcement section of the US Embassy in Moldova - Timothy P. Buckley, Director, Kevin Lanigan, Senior Justice Advisor and Radu Foltea, national legal counselor.
The Director of the National Institute of Justice, Diana Scobioala, has thanked the guests for the donated volumes, mentioning that they will be very useful for the NIJ trainees, judges, prosecutors and for other categories of beneficiaries that attend the NIJ’s trainings. The five titles, signed by American authors, comprise reflections on the judicial process, interpretation of law, judicial ethics, judges’ way of thinking etc.
In the frame of this meeting, the discussions were also focused on the feedback received upon the federal judges’ visit to the Republic of Moldova, including in regard of the training sessions for the resource group of young magistrates, and on the collaboration perspectives in the field of trainings.
