On Monday, April 15, 2024, at the National Institute of Justice took place the meeting between the ad interim Director of the NIJ, Adrian Cerbu, and the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau, Falk Lange, which was accompanied by Natia Japaridze, project manager, „Support to the Justice Reform in the Republic of Moldova”, and Ruslan Grebencea, senior project coordinator, project manager ,,Support to further modernisation of court management in the Republic of Moldova”.
The dialogue focused on the collaboration and support offered to the National Institute of Justice by the Council of Europe for the development of some initiatives in the field of judicial training. The parties exchanged views on the impact of joint activities including the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova for 2021-2024, emphasizing, at the same time, the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in the process of training legal professionals.
In addition, the priorities and needs of the National Institute of Justice were discussed, especially on the dimensions of initial and continuous training, regarding to the role of the NIJ in development a modern judicial system, through the reforms undertaken by our country in the context of alignment with European standards and effective implementation of the Acquis communautaire. In particular, was mentioned the usefulness of developing didactic materials and course supports for various disciplines, including in the field of European law, which would present a unified vision in the process of legal training.
On behalf of the National Institute of Justice also attended the meeting Ecaterina Popa, Head of the training and research Department, and Cezara-Elena Polisca, Head of the training of trainers and didactic-methodical Section.
