On 21 and 22 June, the Annual European Human Rights Training (HELP) Network Conference, entitled “Good training for Good Judgments”, took place in Strasbourg.
In the frame of the event, the representatives of the national judicial training institutions of the Council of Europe member states have discussed on subjects as the improvement possibilities of the professional training impact, the efficient national implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights and the need of an effective cooperation between all the relevant national and international institutions.
From the part of the National Institute of Justice, the conference was attended by Diana Scobioala, Director, focal point of the HELP Programme in the Republic of Moldova, and Alexandra Nica, the Head of the Training and research division.
In her presentation, Diana Scobioala has spoken about the good-practices and about the NIJ’s experience in conducting online training courses in partnership with the HELP Programme, highlighting the fact that the Republic of Moldova is one of the reference states that implement the e-Learning. In this context, it was mentioned that four distance learning courses in the field of human rights were launched till now for judges, prosecutors and other categories of beneficiaries. Also, the Director emphasized the fact that the distance learning courses piloted through the HELP Programme are transposed on the ILIAS platform of the Institute and included in the NIJ Distance training Plan for the current year.
The Annual HELP Network Conference was organized by the Council of Europe under its European programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals. The participation of the NIJ representatives was possible with the support of the Council of Europe Programme “Promoting a human rights compliant criminal justice system in the Republic of Moldova”.
