A delegation from Romania, led by the Minister of Justice, Alina-Ștefania Gorghiu, visited today, August 23, 2023, the National Institute of Justice to have a meeting with the ad interim Director, Ecaterina Popa.
The Romanian delegation included George-Cătălin Șerban, State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Andrei Bratosin, Second Secretary, Political Section of the Romanian Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, Dochiana Bejan and Iulia-Ilinca Ilie, advisors to the Minister, accompanied by Gabriela Bejenari, senior consultant, International Relations Directorate, Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova.
On behalf of the Institute, the meeting was also attended by Cezara-Elena-Polisca, head of the Didactic-methodical and Training of Trainers Section, Olga Marandici, head of the International Relations Section, and Ion Bocan, head of the Continuous Training Section.
During the discussion, were addressed topics related to Moldovan-Romanian collaboration in the justice segment and judicial training. The ad interim Director emphasized the importance of the collaboration and the benefits obtained within the partnerships with the National Institute of Magistracy and the National School of Clerks. It was also highlighted the consistent professional relevance of the transfer of expertise offered to NIJ beneficiaries, starting in 2022 and continuing until now, with the support of the International Development Cooperation Agency (RoAid), under the coordination of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the same time, Mrs. Minister and Mrs. Director identified needs and defined perspectives and opportunities for strengthening institutional expertise, including aspects related to judicial training in the field of the Community acquis.
The guests also had a guided tour of the institution's headquarters, in the study rooms where future judges and prosecutors are trained, including in the mock trial simulation room, being familiar with the training processes within the Institute.
