The ad interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Ecaterina Popa, and the head of the Legal Information Center, Tatiana Ciaglic, participated in the Forum for Young People in the Legal Profession entitled „Routine and justice reform in the Republic of Moldova”. The event, organized in partnership with ABA ROLI as the closing activity of the fourth edition of the training and professional development program for judges, prosecutors and lawyers with up to ten years of professional experience, took place on March 3-4, 2023.
In the opening spoke Mihaela Vidaicu, Director of ABA ROLI Moldova, Brett Rose, Director of the Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Section at the US Embassy in Moldova, and Ecaterina Popa, ad interim director of the National Institute of Justice.
In her message, Ecaterina Popa expressed the support for young professionals, a good part of them were graduates of the National Institute of Justice: „I am glad to see here the graduates of the National Institute of Justice. This is a pride for us, as an institution whose purpose is to train even future judges and prosecutors in our country. In this regard, we assure you that the NIJ continues to develop, to be instep with the requirements of the time and to be open for innovations, for partnerships that make ideas possible, generated many times at such events”. Also, she mentioned the good collaboration between NIJ and ABA ROLI, including within the program, by carrying out several trainings aimed to strengthen the professional capacities of young judges, prosecutors and lawyers.
At the Forum for Young People in the Legal Professions, were discussed the trends and dilemmas in the field of digitalization of justice, professional ethics and inter-professional dialogue, as well as priorities for reforming the justice sector and the legal professions.
