The discussions focused on issues related to the NIJ mission to provide quality training to its beneficiaries on the four segments: initial training, continuous training, training of trainers and e-learning. In particular, Ecaterina Popa referred to the imperative nature of legal training for the beneficiaries of the Institute in the field of migration and asylum in the context of the border war.

During the dialog, the guests had a special interest in the simulation processes in which the NIJ trainees are involved, as well as the organization of the national contest of fine arts “My home is your home too: together in safety”, which has among its objectives the development, amongst the young generation, of empathy for the problems and needs of refugees and migrants.

The interlocutors also agreed on the usefulness of organizing mixed trainings for the actors in the justice sector, whose activity is convergent to the topic concerned, as well as on the update of the Memorandum of understanding signed between the NIJ and UNHCR in 2012.
