The interim director of the National Institute of Justice Ecaterina Popa had a meeting on February 22, 2022, with the Director General of the State Agency for Intellectual Property (AGEPI) Eugeniu Rusu. The purpose of this meeting was to reaffirm and strengthen the cooperation established at inter-institutional level in the segment of professional training of NIJ beneficiaries in the field of intellectual property. The meeting was also attended by AGEPI: Diana Stici, head of the Legal Department and Liliana Vieru, head of the Communication and International Relations Department, and from the NIJ: Cezara-Elena Polisca, counselor of the NIJ Director, head of the Didactic-Methodical and Training of Trainers Marina Leu, Continuing Training Section.
Taking into account the need to promote knowledge on the national and international system of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights among professionals in the justice sector, issues were discussed on the development and updating of the continuing education module in the field.
During the meeting, the topic of facilitating the access of judges from the Republic of Moldova, with the support of AGEPI, to the electronic course "Intellectual Property", offered free of charge by the Academy of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in english. At the same time, the parties discussed the opportunity to translate the course into Romanian and adapt it to the needs of the domestic judicial system and, respectively, to provide the training program on national distance learning platforms.
We remind you that, according to the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2013, the National Institute of Justice organizes in partnership with AGEPI several training activities for judges, prosecutors and other categories of people who contribute to the administration of justice.
