Research, judgment and legal writing are essential skills for any legal professional, especially for NIJ trainees involved in simulation processes. In order to know how to train future judges and prosecutors to motivate their decisions, a group of trainers of the National Institute of Justice are participating today, November 29, 2021, in the seminar "The methodology on the application the legal reasoning in training through simulation activities”.
The event began with greetings from the NIJ Director, Diana Scobioala, the project manager, UNDP Moldova, Valentin Roșca, and the member of the Council for the Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality, Evghenii Goloșceapov.
The training of trainers course, facilitated by Kanstantsin Dzehtsiarou, Doctor of Laws, Associate Professor, University of Liverpool (UK), and Petru Balan, Master of Laws, Lawyer, NIJ trainer, presents the new requirements of the training methodology through simulative activities, train the trainers to analyze the concept of legal reasoning as an integral part of the methodology, and contributes in obtaining the necessary to apply the provisions of the methodology adjusted to the chapter of legal reasoning.
The methodology regarding the application of judicial reasoning in training through simulation activities is based on elements related to the integration of legal reasoning module in the simulated process program and structuring in seminars activities that will cover nine distinct areas.
The event is organized by the National Institute of Justice as part of the project "Support to Justice Sector Reform in Moldova - Reinforcing the National Capacities to Provide Efficient Skills -Based Training for Legal Professionals", implemented by the United Nations Development Program with financial support of the U.S. Government.
