Important issues related to women's access to justice and myths related to the ratification of the Istanbul Convention were discussed with the expert of the Women's Law Center, NIJ trainer, Arina Turcan, during a public lesson. The event was intended for the trainees of the 13th promotion of the National Institute of Justice and took place online on Wednesday, April 14.
During the training activity, future judges and prosecutors were acquainted with the extent of domestic violence in the Republic of Moldova, with the attitudes and perceptions of society on the obligations of women in the family and on victims of domestic violence, legal protection and the provisions of the Istanbul Convention.
The public lesson was organized by the National Institute of Justice and the Women's Law Center, being part of the mentoring program launched within the regional project of the Council of Europe and the European Union "Women's access to justice: implementation of the Istanbul Convention and other standards in the field of gender equality”.
