The Director of the National Institute of Justice, Diana Scobioala, on Monday, June 21, 2021, welcomed the representatives of Expertise France - French public agency for the elaboration and application of international technical cooperation projects, member of the French Development Agency group, that came for a visit to the NIJ.
The delegation included: Cvijeta Jekic, Deputy Director of the Department of Governance, Justice and Human Rights, Aurélia Schaff, Justice Adviser to the Director of Operations, Fanny Mondon, Cooperation Office, Ministry of Justice, Marc Ivarra, First Counselor and Cooperation Adviser, Embassy of France, Pierre de Monte, Liaison Magistrate for the Republic of Moldova and Romania, Maria Neagu, Cooperation Attaché, Embassy of France, and Ioana Chiurlea, Assistant to the Liaison Magistrate. The meeting was also attended by Valentina Contescu, head of the Institutional Management Department, and Octavian Bivol, seconded prosecutor, head of the Continuous Training Section of the National Institute of Justice.
The topics of discussion included the collaboration between the two countries in the field of justice, especially in the field of training: Institute's responsibilities for initial, continuous and training of trainers, as well as how both categories of future judges and prosecutors and judges and prosecutors in office are trained etc. Diana Scobioala also mentioned about the unique experience of the NIJ trainees who were on an internship in Strasbourg and the advantages of this exercise for a professional training in the European context of the candidates to the positions of judges and prosecutors.
