On Friday, February 7, 2020, the Director of the National Institute of Justice, Diana Scobioala, met with Rozeta Karova, senior lawyer at the Secretariat of the Energy Community based in Vienna, Austria.
The meeting generated discussions on carrying out trainings in the energy sector in order to interpret and to apply homogeneously the energy community law in the Republic of Moldova.
On the basis of the legally bindings assumed by our country as a member of the Energy Community, has been outlined the need to develop and strengthen the capacities of Moldovan judges which cope with cases in the domain concerned. Taking into account the obligations of our country assumed by obtaining the membership of the Energy Community, the need to develop and strengthen the response capacities of Moldovan judges to cases involving the field concerned has been outlined. Thus, during the meeting, were highlighted the training necessities of the actors in the justice sector in order to fulfill the commitments to implement the Community acquis in this sphere.
The Energy Community, established in 2005, by the Treaty establishing the Energy Community, is an international organization that develops energy policies. In May 2010, the Republic of Moldova became a member of the Energy Community, and last year held its Presidency.
