The official launch of a new initial training course took place on 15 October 2018 at the National Institute of Justice (NIJ). The new trainees will study for 18 months, after which they will have the right to candidate for the position of judge or prosecutor.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova, E.S. Pascal Le Deunff, representatives of law institutions, NIJ trainers, NIJ development partners, as well as the 35 trainees who have been successfully admitted this year.
The event was opened by Diana Scobioala, the NIJ Director. "Welcome to the National Institute of Justice - a space where you can train as a judge and prosecutor and build your desired career path. There are days, weeks and months of hard work, developing professional skills to help you in your chosen job. But no concerted effort of our trainers and the NIJ team will succeed without your direct involvement", Diana Scobioala addressed the future judges and prosecutors.
At the ceremony, Mircea Rosioru, President of the Commission for the organization and conducting the admission contest, deputy General Prosecutor, Angela Motuzoc, President of the Superior Council of Prosecutors and Victor Micu, President of the Superior Council of Magistracy, have spoken. They referred to the specifics of the mission of judges and prosecutors within the law system and advised the trainees to learn in order to become good professionals with fairness, veracity and dignity.
On the same day, trainees enrolled for the initial training course for October 2018 – April 2020, were introduced to the training program they will follow at the National Institute of Justice.
Since its inception until now, the National Justice Institute has offered to the justice system ten graduate promotions, of which 137 were candidates for the position of judge and 222 were candidates for the position of prosecutor. At this year's admission session have participated 129 contestants. Overall, 53 competitors enrolled for the position of judge and 76 competitors - for the position of prosecutor. In the current NIJ admission session, the contestants attended the eliminatory psychological test, the specialty test (grid test) and the oral test.
