On March 28, 2018, the Regional Conference on strengthening cooperation in the field of asset recovery took place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The event brought together legal advisors in the field of combating corruption, judges, prosecutors and experts from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Serbia. The National Institute of Justice was represented by Mr. Dumitru Obada, Head of didactic-methodical and training of trainers section, detached prosecutor.
The objective of the Conference was to present the findings of the Study prepared by the Advice on Individual Rights in Europe (AIRE) Centre and the Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat based on final court judgments in corruption cases in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia.
The conference was organized in the frame of the project “Combating corruption in the Western Balkans and Strengthening Regional Cooperation in the field of Asset Recovery”, which is being implemented with support from the British Government and from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
