On Thursday, March 1, the Rector of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, Sergey V. Arakelyan, has held a public lecture at the National Institute of Justice, during which he has spoken about the armenian justice system, but also about the activity of the institution he manages.
The event was attended by the trainees of the National Institute of Justice, candidates to the positions of judge and prosecutor.
In her intervention, Diana Scobioala, the NIJ Director, thanked the distinguished guest for his willingness to share his professional experience and the armenian practice regarding the initial training of the candidates to the positions of judge and prosecutor.
The meeting took the format of a dialogue, during which the trainees expressed their interest for the admission procedure and graduation of the Academy of Justice, for the Academy’s trainees, for the training methodology and the study disciplines for the future judges and prosecutors, but also for the legal profession accession points in Armenia.
Sergey V. Arakelyan holds a doctor habilitatus degree in law and his area of expertise comprise criminal law, including criminology and domestic violence. Since 2016, he is rector of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Armenia - institution that trains inclusively future judges, prosecutors and investigators.
