National Institute of Justice, visited by Robert R. Strangest, Executive Director of CEELI Institute

Thursday, May 30, 2024, took place the meeting of the Ad Interim Director of the NIJ, Adrian Cerbu, with the Executive Director of the CEELI Institute in Prague, Robert R. Strang, who was accompanied by representatives of ABA ROLI Moldova – Mihaela Vidaicu, Director, and Ecaterina Vornicescu, legal advisor. Olga Marandici, adviser to the Director of the NIJ, also attended the meeting.

During the discussions, the parties addressed issues related to the mission of the NIJ to train legal professionals, especially in the field of continuous training, according to the needs identified in the system. In this context, was highlighted the value of the cooperation between foreign experts with national trainers in the process of training the NIJ beneficiaries

Also was mentioned the good cooperation of the National Institute of Justice with ABAROLI Moldova and the CEELI Institute in conducting training sessions on specific topics, such as investigating corruption crimes, including financial investigation and cryptocurrency transactions.

Consequently, it was agreed to organize jointly trainings for NIJ beneficiaries to share good practices and develop professional skills, to face current challenges in managing corruption cases, money laundering, criminal liability of legal entities, illegal financing of political parties etc.
