The finalists of the national fine arts contest „The future of justice in the European community: the vision of young people on justice in the Republic of Moldova” received their prizes during a celebration organized at the National Institute of Justice.
The 5th edition of the contest was intended for pupils aged between 11 and 17 from general schools, gymnasiums, high schools, art schools, centers of excellence and art colleges from all over the country, being organized by the National Institute of Justice and the School of fine arts „Alexei Sciusev”, in partnership with the Council of Europe project „Preventing and protecting children from violence including in the digital environment in the Republic of Moldova”.
"Today we celebrate not only the individual achievements of the winners, but also their contribution to the exploration and interpretation of this year's contest theme. Each work expresses a unique and personal vision on how justice can evolve and adapt in the context of our country's accession to the European Union", noted, at the opening of the event, the Ad interim Director of the NIJ, Adrian Cerbu.
At the award ceremony, took the floor the Director of the Fine Arts School „A. Sciusev”, Olimpiada Arbuz-Spatari, senior coordinator of the CoE project “Preventing and protecting children from violence including in the digital environment in the Republic of Moldova”, Angelica Russu, member of the Jury, head of the Department of technical-theoretical disciplines in visual arts of the Faculty of Fine Decorative Arts and Design from the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts, Vladimir Lozovanu.
The jury consisting of representatives of the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts, of the “Ion Creanga” State Pedagocical University, of the National Institute of Justice and of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau, chose the laureates based on creativity, the application of artistic techniques, the originality and relevance of the message conveyed through their works. Among the almost 80 works, winners were designated for two age categories:
first category (11-14 years):
1st place - Evelina Vrednic, 14 years old, „Falling stars of European justice”, „Alexei Sciusev” School of Fine Arts, Chisinau, Prof. Lucia Bobeica;
2nd place - Antonina Rosca, 13 years old, „Power of Justice”, „Alexei Sciusev” Fine Arts School, Chisinau, Prof. Lucia Bobeica;
3rd place - Sofia Oprea, 12 years old, „Access to justice: the key to the open road to the future”, Regional School of Fine Arts, Soldanesti, Prof. Oxana Iaghilova;
second category (15-17 years):
1st place - Lucian Gonta, 16 years old, „Monitoring, modernization and innovation", District School of Fine Arts, Soldanesti, Prof. Iurie Durnea;
2nd place - Dana Schita, 17 years old, "Transparency and accessibility", Regional School of Fine Arts, Soldanesti, Prof. Iurie Durnea;
3rd place – Maria Bodiu, 17 years old, "Political influence", District School of Fine Arts, Soldanesti, Prof. Iurie Durnea.
The special prize of the NIJ went to Dumitru Antoci, 11 years old, „Promoting recovery and reintegration", District School of Fine Arts, Soldanesti, Prof. Iurie Durnea, and the special prize of the CoE Office in Chisinau - to Amelia Aftenev, 11 years old, „The future of justice - the magic of colors”, School of Arts "Valeriu Poleakov", Chisinau, Prof. Zinaida Ursu.
Diplomas of merit were awarded to other ten competitors in the under 14 age category to recognize the effort and quality of work submitted by the younger artists.
The national fine arts contest „The future of justice in the European community: the vision of young people on justice in the Republic of Moldova" took place between March - May 2024. This year's edition aimed to promote fundamental European values, through visual arts and creativity, in the context of obtaining the status of a candidate country to join the European Union, as well as encouraging students to explore various aspects of justice, offering their perspective on the future of justice in our country. The action is a part of the series of activities carried out on the basis of the Collaboration Agreement signed by the National Institute of Justice and the „Alexei Sciusev” School of Fine Arts.
