On Friday, September 8, 2023, the National Institute of Justice was visited by a delegation from the European Institute of Public Administration ( EIPA ): Juan Diego Ramírez-Cárdenas Díaz and Wolfgang Koeth, accompanied by representatives of the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova: Eugen Vizir, Director, and Gheorghe Cucos, counselor. Find out on a documentary mission in Chisinau, foreign experts set out to meet with government entities and officials who have an important role to play in the extensive process of reforms initiated by our country to integrate the European Union.
During the meeting, the ad interim Director of the National Institute of Justice, Ecaterina Popa, presented, in general terms, the mission and activity of the NIJ in training legal professionals and training approaches on the three dimensions: initial training, continuous training and training of trainers. At the same time, she mentioned the partnerships established between the National Institute of Justice and the schools of judiciary in the region and Europe that facilitate the exchange of experiences and good practices in promoting high standards of judicial training.
The discussions also covered opportunities for collaboration in the field of professional development of NIJ beneficiaries according to the needs identified. Thus, in the context of offering the Republic of Moldova the status of a candidate country for the EU, the importance of organizing training sessions focused on topics of European law and sharing teaching materials was emphasized, including the curriculum, on this segment.
The Parties expressed a common interest in the future development of cooperation and knowledge exchange between the two entities.
The meeting was also attended by Valentina Contescu, head of the Institutional Management Department, and Cezara-Elena Polisca, head of the Didactic-Methodical and Training of Trainers section.
