On October 25-27, 2022, appointed representatives by the National Institute of Justice –Vladimir Palamarciuc, NIJ trainer, lawyer and Victor Sandu, judge at the Chisinau Court were trained in the Legal English, an activity organized by the National Institute of Magistracy from Romania.
Training sessions were focused on civil law issues in order to develop communication skills, to deepen and complete the linguistic knowledge related to the practical activity of magistrates, specific to judicial cooperation in civil matters. Participants were initiated in legal english from european acts, in special regulations concerning jurisdiction, the recognition and enforcement of judgements in matrimonial matters and the matters of parental liability, as well as on international child abduction.
During November 15-17, 2022, other NIJ representatives will benefit from another Legal English training, but that will target criminal law notions.
The participation of the national law representatives at these trainings activities took place within the project ”Strengthening the justice system by organizing expertise transfer missions addressed to judges and prosecutors from the Republic of Moldova”, implemented by the National Institute of Magistracy due to the support of the Agency for International Development Cooperation (RoAid), under the coordination of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, due to the support provided for the judicial system reform. The cooperation directions of the project concern the involvement of judges and prosecutors from the Republic of Moldova in professional development activities organized by the NIM, study visits to institutions within the Romanian judicial system, as well as the invitation as experts of NIM trainers to trainings for Moldovan magistrates.
