The National Institute of Justice hosts, between September 9-12, 2024, the autumn school „Cybercrime investigation and examination. Handling and assessment of electronic evidence”, intended for judges and prosecutors. The action is part of our country's efforts to implement the provisions of the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime, to which Moldova is a signatory party.

During the four intensive days, participants will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge and practical skills in the field of cybercrime, under the guidance of Council of Europe experts: Hania El Helweh and Branko Stamencovic.

The structure of the training programme covers the essential aspects of cybercrime investigation and trial. Therefore, participants will be trained on advanced cybercrime research techniques, including the collection and securing of digital evidence and preparation for the judicial phase. A key component of the training activity will be the simulation of a complete process, which will include court hearing, deliberation and adoption of a judgement, thus providing participants with experience in handling cybercrime cases in the courtroom.

The event is organized by the National Institute of Justice and the CyberEast+ a joint project of the European Union and of the Council of Europe, implemented in the Eastern Partnership

The project focuses on improving the legislative framework and national policies in line with the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime and its Second Additional Protocol on enhanced cooperation and disclosure of electronic evidence.
